Examples of our recent work include:
- advising several Charitable Trusts on tax related matters, including donee status issues
- advising an international Charitable Trust on applications relating to Schedule 32 of Income Tax Act 2007 and Cabinet approval for full taxable exemptions
- advising on, and settled, at least 4 Mergers/Amalgamations in the past 2 years
- advising a leading corporate lobby group on creating a not-for-profit (NFP) structure and undertaking successful registration under the Charities Act
- advising a large NFP organisation on the acquisition of a multi-million dollar commercial property for commercial development purposes
- advising a large NFP client on the sale of their iconic, landmark commercialproperty in the heart of Auckland city
- ongoing legal advice, dispute resolution and media work for a large non-profit employer in the Auckland area (with over 360 employees)
- advising a District Health Board on non-profit structures
- advice on contracts and legal structures to a Primary Health Organisation
- advising 3 related community trusts with asset base of approximately $210m
In addition, we have on-going legal projects with:
- public funded NGOs and social welfare/ health services non-profit organisations
- at least 3 public funded health and social care providers organisations in the health, community development, education, child support, disability care and support (including hearing and vision impaired groups), illnessrecovery and rehabilitation (i.e. cancer)
- churches with legal compliance and dispute matters, and we also advise on Religion and the Law issues
